Taylor Swift surprised fans with her big announcement about Red (Taylor’s version), but it looks like we shouldn’t really have been shocked as she may have hinted at it before – with the help of a friend.

Olivia Rodrigo fans think back to a recent interview in which the singer revealed that Taylor sent her a ring similar to the one she had during her Red era.

“Last night – like literally 12 hours ago – I got a package from her with this handwritten note,” Olivia revealed to SiriusXM in March. “She gave me this ring because she said she wore one exactly when she wrote to Red, and she wanted me to have one.”

On Red’s new album cover (Taylor’s version), Taylor wears a similar ring that has been slightly altered. While Olivia’s and Taylor’s original version of the ring said “love,” this new version says “red” for the album’s name.

Fans on Twitter can’t help but wonder if it was a coincidence or just another one of Taylor’s Easter Eggs as they waited for news about the upcoming re-release.

Olivia previously helped preview a few songs for Taylor’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) starring BFF Conan Gray, so it wouldn’t be too far-fetched for her to suggest the same thing.

Before Taylor unveiled her next album, many fans believed that the next album would be a 1989 re-release thanks to brand new merchandise sold in their shop.

Some fans wonder if the ring means that there will be a new duet between the two singers on the new album and we definitely keep our fingers crossed for that. Unfortunately we have to wait until November 19th to find out if it’s true or not.
