After a week-long break in the cool Scottish Hebrides, three participants in the Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins 2021 line-up emerged victorious.
Chief Instructor Ant Middleton was tasked with breaking the news to the final recruits as they stood before the SAS: Who Dares Wins instructors, including Mark “Billy” Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox and Melvyn Downes who previously attended the show in the year.
“I can now let you know that we have reached the end of the course – ready, ready. Take what you’ve learned here and do whatever you have to because you can all do it, but that doesn’t mean you passed all of them, ”explained Middleton.
“What we’re looking for is to see if you have the qualities and characteristics of a Special Forces operator. Do you have what it takes to stand side by side with the DS? Courage. Serenity. Solidarity. Would I put my life in your hands It was not easy. That was tough for us! “
Middleton then announced that the three recruits in front of him – Alexandra Burke, Wes Nelson and Aled Davies – had passed the selection process and said, “You three successfully completed this course. Just unbelievable. Well done! “
Upon hearing the news, Burke burst into tears as she hugged Davies and Nelson.
“We’re not looking for a person,” Downes said after the announcement. “The common denominator is honesty, integrity, perseverance and excellence.”
“We’re not looking for you to say it, we’re looking for you to prove it,” added Billy.
“Passing the selection was a sense of achievement for me, but it’s horrific. I chose it, damn it, what an idiot, ”Foxy explained.
“If you tell them you died, they will remember it forever. They will draw great strength from the fact that they could endure what we threw them. “
From a list of 12 celebrities, including Kerry Katona and Saira Khan, five recruits made it to the final. However, TV presenter Ore Oduba and Olympic rower James Cracknell did not survive the final challenges and narrowly missed the selection process.
